Explaining HypnosisHypnosis in simple terms is a natural, altered state of consciousness, a trance state.A trance state is a normal state of altered consciousness which each of us experiences to greater or lesser degrees as we go about our normal daily activities. We experience an altered state of consciousness when we daydream, or when we are totally focussed on a specific task or activity, or just before we fall asleep. Trance states can be of differing levels from light trance to deep trance. A hypnotherapist facilitates a trance state in their client through a natural process When in this trance state or hypnosis, both the mind and the body relax, allowing tension and stress to drift away. The everyday conscious mind remains aware and in control, whilst allowing the non-conscious mind to be explored. It is in a trance state that the non-conscious mind becomes more receptive to change, and positive suggestions for health and happiness can be easily accepted. So by utilising the power of the non-conscious mind we can enable self-generated changes to occur. There are a variety of ways in which trance state can be achieved and the source of a problem reached, and because everyone is different with different needs, sessions are tailored to the individual and their specific needs. Half an hour in hypnosis can be as refreshing as a nights sleep. Completely confidential, personalised hypnotherapy, to heal, to change unwanted patterns and behaviour and to move forward with confidence. |
